Been looking at picking up a ford 8700 tractor to have around. Going to go look at it in person in a few days. Mostly to use for running an auger, pulling around hard hose irrigation reels, maybe some mowing with a 14' batwing. Never been around ford tractors, been around plenty of ford trucks and pickups. Anything specific I should be wary of, or avoid? It's a 2 wheel drive with a cab, plenty of hours, but has had some engine work, not sure exactly what was worked on. Thanks for your input.

We have always had blue tractors. They are pretty tough. We have a 8700 with a loader. Its moved ALOT of hay and straw.
Just rolled over 10k hrs a few months ago. Its had 1 clutch, a injection pump rebuild around 9500 hrs and several ac compressors. It burns no oil and always cranks up.
I dont think you can go wrong with a 8700 or 9700. They are a tremendous improvement over the 8600/9600 series in my opinion.
