Subject: Tile advice

NW IL
We do our own tiling and some for neighbors. Most ground is rolling so mostly just tiling out low spots. 1/3 of the time we are doing areas that were done years ago that we have no idea were the old tile is but it is still partially working. So as you know when we go in and install new we end up damaging the old making all kinds of problem areas (water coming to the surface from old damaged tile). Really a pain to have to go back in and fix all those spots. Does anyone go in and try to completely destroy the original tile by plowing through it maybe every so many feet before laying new? We generally have a lot of grade. Any ideas the spacing for destroying the original, every 100’ 150’
What would you do in situations like this? Thanks
