You’re basically making my point that it’s hard telling what guys will do but I’ll guarantee the price at the time impacts it. $4.80 corn and no one is going to be hurrying to get the crop in the ground if it’s getting late.
Some of those people also have pretty recent memories of planting corn late betting on the come and having it stand in a snowdrift till spring to be harvestable. Corn in a snowdrift is a really terrible agent for paying bills vs. a prevented planting check cashed eight months prior, especially in a situation where their fertilizer is still in a tank and not in the ground. |
