Subject: RE: Charolais x Simmental

North Central Texas
It does take the right char cross to make the good calves but they are still limited. The really good smokes will make high choice at best. Guys wanting to cross two continentals are asking for average to low choice. We don't need to revisit 1995 and the poor quality this country was turning out. The order buyers here pay 10 under for char cross which is about the same as bwf. Throw simm in the mix and it's 15-20 off. We keep going down from there for the rest of the breeds. Heck a dang good red Angus is going to loss 5 cents just because all the other breeds aren't supposed to be black.
