| You guys be careful asking for that quick snow melt. We got that a few years back.
I was driving down a road along ways from the Maple River 2 ish in the morning. I saw signs with flood warning and potential road closure and was thinking it was kids had moved the signs. Pretty soon I saw water over towards the river. Pretty soon I could see it was coming up fast but still 1/8 mile away to the side. I put the hammer down as I could see it coming up that fast. I figured I was 1/2 mile from high ground running 75 mph ( governed) when the water broke over the road. I still had a hundred yards left when the headlights went under. I made it to high ground but it was close!
So probably 30 seconds for the water to rise 2ft on a Valley probably a mile wide.
IF you had told me that much water could rise that fast I would have said it was impossible! | |
