Subject: Re: Machinery Insurance

Just pulled mine out and figured it out I am paying about $2.70/1,000 coverage this is for all machinery on wheels only, grain bins and building are listed separate. With my insurance company it cost about the same to cover everything as it does just the high dollar items like tractors and combines because if you only insure those you get put in a higher rate class (because there is more risk with those items from fire) than if you insure everything you own, I had them figure out the cost of insuring just items worth more than 60,000 and the cost for everything was only 150-200 more/year so I have everything listed on my policy including tillage equipment. Kinda gives a person piece of mind knowing everything is covered, I mean you never know a tornado could come through and everything would be gone not just the tractors and combines. Where I think I am getting screwed is on my grain handling setup dryer/bins as I am paying almost 7.40/1,000 on that stuff. Dennis SEND
