Sounds like a shaky write off. I could see deducting the gas and oil that gets used but the majority of the the snowmobile? I think in an audit he would have a tough time keeping that as a write off. Does he do his own taxes or go to an accountant? If he's going to an accountant that gave him to okay to do it that should be one accountant to stay away from.

I think on a rig that is totally dedicated to farm use it is possible but not when there is a majority of recreation use that the snowmobile is getting used for.
