Watching the Bengals game last night and a big blue arc came out of the newest baseboard heater, probably 5 years old now, oil fired electric.  Satellite receiver stayed on, TV stayed on, just a big poof.

It worked after and still works.

What would cause that arc in the middle of the unit?  Dry and cold here, could have been a big charge of static from dust? but better troubleshoot it or replace it.

Don't want to burn the house down.  It is in a critical location in the living room.
