5 Million in CD's in a single bank ?

Better hope that bank is on extremely secure financial footing.

Even if it is titled in different ways to take advantage of new 250k limits insured by FDIC I would be real nervous with it all in 1 bank. FDIC is already broke and will never be able to cover the losses if things really get bad even with a FED backstop.

I'm beginning to fully understand why the older generation that lived through GD1 had a hard time trusting banks and bankers.

Hope that investor has a lot of faith in that bank He'll likely need it before all is said and done.
