Central KS
We have had very good luck drilling wheat into corn stalks. Drill at an angle to rows, phosphate in furrow, 20-30% higher seeding rate than our continuous wheat. Variety selection is important. Wheat behind corn will out yield wheat behind beans nearly every year, and a lot of years yield very similarly to the continuous wheat.

If you are going to no till, a chopping head will make more residue on the ground. If you are going to vt it, chopping head is nice. Have done both, and if you have a good no till drill, there is no reason to vt it ahead of the drill in our corn yield environment. In a high yielding corn area, there will be more advantage to a vt pass ahead of the drill.
