| Most of the wheat in KY is planted after high-yielding corn, and the University of KY says around 80% of the state's wheat is now no-tilled and yields increase every year (ref USDA data). Leaving the stalks standing as tall as possible, and no-tilling wheat between the corn rows works best (but ideally takes a drill/air-seeder the same width as the planter), and RTK is REQUIRED. Phos in the row makes a big difference too.
This is 7.5" wheat into 30" corn rows, it looks better than conventionally tilled fields without the tillage expense!
