Hand County, SD | We did some BMR Sudan this last year and ended up buying a Recon conditioner. Used that and spread it as wide as we could then raked it and baled it. From cut to bale it was 4 days and samples came back at 14%. We've since used the recon on rye and alfalfa and it's helped tremendously. We got 2 cuttings on the sudan but it was a dry year here. I think we got around 500 60" bales total on 75 acres. We run it through a bale processor for cows and grind some with alfalfa and rye for a ration for calves. | |
