Subject: RE: Educate me on field cultivators..”diggers”

We just went through this question. We've had a CIH tiger 200 42'6" with a rolling basket that we really liked. We applied 32% with it, pulling a 1600g tank between tractor and digger. The red digger has the type of frame that uses 2 smaller tubes instead of 1 bigger tube for the frame. The only bad thing about the red style is it's double the nooks and crannys to wash. The depth control wheels in front of the digger do very little and the swivel is VERY expensive to rebuild.

We just traded our red digger off for a JD2210 50' with a 4 bar tine harrow with the level lift tires in front of the frame and the single point depth control. My son (JD mechanic for 12 years) had been on tooooooo many service calls with the accu depth height control to ever buy one himself. He said some guys got along fine, others it was a nightmare.
