Depends on the bells and whistles. We had to put up new one last spring.(wind storm). $93,000. Have drops and believe they all come with gps now. Reinke. Sure by now over 100,000. Electric depends on if 3 phase in area. Otherwise I’d say majority diesel. However I do know some that run on propane. Engine size depends on how deep one needs to pull. I pull out of ponds and get by with a couple 4 cyclinder Cummins diesel engines. Pulling 450 feet up takes a large diesel engine. I have a small Chevy propane engine on a 250 gallon well that pumps in pond and my propane bill was around $2000 last year. Ran abt 2 months continuously. Had propane bought right. Also have 250 gallon well with 25 hp electric motor (with phase converter) that also dumps in pond. Also ran continuously abt 2 months electric bill about $1250. These wells are about 120 ft deep. Last yr was most I’ve used small wells since we got the farm in 2005. Normally we catch a few rains, but last year couldn’t rain dance enough. It’s the rain that still makes grain ( bushels).
