Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn. | Your 4450 runs on 12V. Running directly to the battery is generally recommended with a Raven 450 but this is mainly to obtain enough high current power for the section valves. The 450 itself doesn't usually require much power.
With that being said I would still recommend going straight to the starter terminal or the "+" terminal of the left battery. Ground for the Raven can be picked up from the "-" of the right battery as you have done or from several other places. There is a large bolt on the right side that can be used but most any other good ground will suffice.
Many Deere tractors of that age used 2-6 Volt batteries wired in series to produce 12V for the starter and other accessories. If your tractor has 2-6 volt batteries (3 battery caps each) then you will NOT be able to use the "-" terminal of the left battery for the ground for the Raven. You would be able to use the "-" terminal of the right battery which is attached to the frame.
If your tractor has 2-12 batteries (6 caps each) then the batteries are wired in parallel and you COULD use either "-" battery terminal or the frame for the ground for the Raven. |
