Just curious how many of you have tried bale grazing and what are your thoughts and take backs from it. Below are a couple of videos I took. We started around Christmas time and don’t have much for complaints so far. But that may change as spring and mud/weather come into play.

I found that putting out just enough bales so that the cows weren't so inclined to wander around cherry picking helped.
Also found that putting the bales so that there was just a wee bit more than 2 cow's lengths between made for a better soil enhancement. (You may not believe the difference you will see in the future.)
Found that setting out feed like this in separate areas (I didn't have enough of those) so that I started the equipment every three or 4 weeks meant a LOT less equipment time.

Only in a very heavy snow year did this not work well! (cows tended to waste more when the snow was a couple feet thick) and it was just tougher to get around to place the bales.

Calving after all the snow was melted helps this kind of system work well.
