I did exactly what you are doing two years ago. Case IH 1200, oem meters driven by suredrives on a Magnum 235 or 340. I run mine without the hydraulic alternator. I did get my meter covers planed so they shouldn't pull quite as hard as standard covers but I did also build electric drives for my insecticide boxes as well. Works great so far.
