I've been looking at similar trucks, and it depends on if it has a DD or OD tranny. Most are OD, so I want a rear ratio of 3.25 or lower. Lots and lots of 2.64 and 3.08 rears out there from over the road trucks.

I’d rather have a 2.64 and run in direct much more efficient and start ability isn’t an issue.


2.64 rears and direct drive is several percent more efficient. Good for fleets, not a big deal for the average Farmer.
