I've never seen a 12 speed automatic transmission. I think my company truck with an Allison has 5:13 to 1. Allisons are usually overdrive in the top 1 or 2 gears. They need lower rear end ratios to keep from twisting driveshafts. With an Allison it's easy to crank up the torque when taking off in soft ground.
