Subject: RE: 4WD for snow removal?

SW Minnesota
I am on my 4th year. I have found two spots that didn’t get welded right. One was in the float set up in the first week. I had tipped the bucked forward to drag snow away and a weld broke it was pretty honey combed .I rewelded it and has been fine since. The weld was around the pin in the quick hitch. I hit a frozen rock . That one could have been a lot worse with a snow blower. Quick tach pins kind of save the loader frame. Another thing that helps these blades in general is you aren’t moving as fast as a truck does. My blade has a float system I copied from a factory built blade. It can let one end float up 2 feet. If I am pushing snow out into a ripped I tilt the bucket back enough so it floats over the lumps. The bucket seems to hold enough wet snow to max out the tractors hydraulics. I don’t understand how it would be any worse than a commercial pusher on a tractor loader.
