Even ethnicity comes into play. Some people with indiginous genes have genetic material that makes them particularly susceptable to things like diabetes because their ancestors lived in trying times for having enough food so they became particularly efficient in using energy sources and saving some of those resources as fat for lean times. So now with the 150 # of annual sugar consumption they baloon up like blimps and become diabetic especially easily. What was a good gene a few generations ago when times for their forefathers were difficult, now makes them especially susceptable to bad food outcomes today.
I agree, not everyone has the same needs or needs the exact same diet to remain healthy. | |
