Like I have said many times, not everyone needs to go as low carb as my wife and I do.
But I think many people could benefit health wise by cutting out some of the carbs and the table sugar is certainly one of the the low hanging fruits. Plus table sugar is half glucose and half fructose. The fructose gets ported to and metabolized by the liver with the same pathways that alcohol uses (bypassing most of the normal digestion process). So added sugar could affect a person quite differently than say starchy carbs that will digest mostly to glucose rather than half of it being fructose. So a baked potato metabolizes quite differently than the equivelent carbs of table sugar.
