 | I only treat myself to junk food when I do something smart.   I used to do something stupid, and would drown my sorrows with something to munch on.   Now, I only have junk food when I do something smart, and when I do something stupid (above my normal everyday stupid) when I get in the house I try to read a chapter in my Bible.  If I'm hungry, I have something like a carrot stick or jerky.  Started doing that around the first of last year. 
 Fast forward to today, my belt is one notch tighter, and I just finished the Book of Revelation last week.
 
 
 Note, this plan might not work for everyone, particularly not for those who do a lot of smart things, and very few dumb ones.
