Depends on what you want to do with it. I have a few mini's and many AR's. The mini's are fine for a pickup gun, accuracy and optic mounting solutions are less than to be desired.

The AR's on the other hand are a fine shooting platform, most of mine will do .5 moa to 1.5 moa. The mini's on the other hand are about 1.5-3 moa at best, to get better you have to do some stock & barrel tuning. If you want to add a nice scope, red dot sight, or NV device later on the AR is the way to go, very flexible. If you want a gun to have in a vehicle and not worry about dinging or maintaining it or fussy about accuracy then go with the Mini.

I get most of my AR's now from Larue. Have Colt, Busy, and DPMS which are just fine as well.
