I agree with Phil that almost any aftermarket spoked closing wheel will outperform the OEM smooth cast wheel by a significant margin. 

And, btw, we put a tremendous amount of R&D effort into the development of the Thompson wheel (spoke shape, spoke length, thickness of material, brg housing, etc), and continue to test and evaluate it against all of the competitor designs. But the ultimate proof is what the producers themselves are saying who have tested one or more designs side-by-side for a couple of seasons -- and the Thompson wheel quite often comes out as the top choice.
