The 1974 White full-line catalog for Canada has a couple pictures of red 2255's. In one picture the hood is all red while the other has the white insert on the sides. Both are labelled "WHITE". The same catalog from the U.S. shows the 2255 in green with Oliver nameplates. 1974 was a transition year to dropping the old nameplates and going with just White so it got confusing. I have seen red 2255's up here, can't remember if they were called Whites or Cockshutt.

Northwest Illinois
In the last years they dropped the Cockshutt name in Canada. They kept all three color schemes to satisfy every dealer's customers.

Noticed that few days ago. Sharp tractor. Search for it on youtube. There's a fella I believe in Minnesota who pulls one and does well.

I think somebody cobbled it together because it has a 3208T engine or at least exhaust manifolds.

The switchover from Oliver to the White brand name was Farm Progress Show time of 1974.

The model 4-150 was being sold by Oliver dealers before, maybe about a year before.

However model 2255 tractors were still built after sep of 74. branded White, painted red ans sold in Canada, maybe elsewhere.

In the USA you were suppose to buy a White 2-150 which was pretty much the same tractor except for the MM engine and a better cab.

Also the first 2255 tractors has the Cat model 3150 engine. Those built after the spring of 1974 had the 3208 engine.

Sure glad Dad got his in the spring of 74, instead of waiting until 75 and getting a 2-150.

Brazilton KS

I wouldn't really call adding a turbo 'cobbling it together'

3208T has a 300 hp marine rating...makes a pretty decent farm stock puller if your rules allow it.

Saw a new 2255 Oliver mfwd at a dealer in S. Idaho around late 74 or maybe in 75. Used them pulling spud combines or windrowers.

What I meant was a 3208T didn't come stock. And it doesn't look bad either infact it looks good. I know nothing about tractor pulling classes.

I know this is a really old thread, but I had an interesting picture come across from the Floyd County Museum today and when I googled the tractor the first result was this thread. I've never been there, but assume that is the Oliver plant in the background? There wasn't much information given, other than it was a prototype of some sort. I like the look!

Neat!

Very likely the Oliver factory as there is a row of Oliver tractors in the background visible to the right of the front of the 2255.

The tractor factory in Charles City is one thing that I really wish I had been old enough to see in operation.
