8360R steering got hard and is throwing these three codes (below). After reading on other threads I believe it is the steering priority valve and or orings. Where exactly is this valve on the tractor and in John Deere parts? Haven’t had any luck finding either.

These are the codes

XSC.001 522786.01

XSC.001 522790.01

XSC.001 523329.14

Panhandle of Ne.
If you can steer it all the way to the left, pop it hard about a dozen times and so the same to the right. Sometimes that will help if a valve is sticking

Try turning the steering wheel hard one way or the other and slam down on the brakes with your foot. Sometimes debris can plug a LS check valve in the steering and brake system on certain MY 8Rs. The priority valve is in the hydraulic filter head. If you activate a hydraulic function and steering doesn't come back, I'd doubt it's the priority valve. If it does get better, than there's a good chance the packing are blown on the priority valve.

I can stomp on brakes hard and it defiantly affects the steering for just a second. Activating a scv somewhat affects it maybe. One of the codes that popped up is main hydraulic pressure low. Only saw that once. Maybe a pressure sensor? Brakes hitch and scv work fine, hydraulic oil level and filters don’t have a lot of hours on them.

Good gosh don’t say that. I’m crossing my fingers it isn’t a steering valve or some pump.

there are 3 sensors in that area that can cause issues. pretty common problem. usually they leak oil though.

Are the three sensors you’re talking about on the bottom of the tractor next to right wheel facing down? There’s also some higher up Above those. None are leaking oil but you can tell a few have been replaced by previous owner.

We had a similar code and replaced one of those sensors and it fixed it. Dealer told us which one. About $100. Our steering worked fine, but tractor was restricted to a lower gear.
Edit to add sensor was not leaking.

Update. Activating the SCV does nothing to affect the steering. Stepping on brakes hard affects the steering for a moment. Also at night with the lights on outside of the shop when the steering goes from easy to hard all the lights dim and it throws the redundancy code. Kind of like that big electric motor is trying to run then throws the code.

There is an oring that tears down by filters in block small oil line into a large nut. The steering still works but it is hard. Had to replace mine this fall and heard of others.

Yes but I deleted the picture. It is not hard to take it apart. Small oil line going into nut around 11/2” facing forward on block by transmission oil filters. There are around 4 orings on the fitting. I think it was the third one.

Can’t really help with the problem but at one point or another all 4 of mine had that happen so it must be pretty common. I do remember one time it happened they put a new hydraulic pump on it.

My 8335R had the steering redundancy fault as well. Turned out to be faulty pin in sensor plug.

First service call it was diagnosed as faulty sensor (which he brought with him which I though was pretty awesome). Seemed to fix it but next day same problem.
Second service call it was diagnosed as faulty pin in plug for the sensor. He didn't have the required parts/tools.
Third service call was to replace faulty pins.
And that was over 500 hours ago and now no faults since.

Edit... Looking back in the photos on my phone, I also had ccu 523916 "Hydraulic oil filter restricted" fault so mine was a bit different.
And it wasn't the filters either.
