looking for some good numbers of dekalb milo. never grown it on our farm going to have 50 acres this year. Deer have wiped us out when it was last in corn and wanting to have something to harvest in these 2 fields come fall. This would be 30 inch rows lighter ground trees around 3 sides about 6 acres of one field would be a little wetter other than that dry and hills. Never have grown it just curious of some varieties you think would work our seed rep is asking as well just curious what you all think as well. This would be put in a bin for selling after harvest for delivery to 2 options i have both places want it in a bin. would most likely spray it with roundup to kill a vegatation but not totally sure on that.

I realize I'm in a totally different area, but 37-07 is kind of our go to around here. It's a medium-early maturity. In a good year it won't be the top variety but it handles stress better than some of the higher yielding numbers. The quality is usually pretty good and it dries down good. If the deer are getting rough on your corn, I'm afraid they might be kind of hard on the milo as well.

what day length corn do you grow?

my thoughts compaired to here:

2805 - 103 ish day corn
3707 - 110 ish day corn
3816 - 111 ish day corn
53-67 - 113-114 ish day corn

these line up to what we see for day lengths here. milo likes heat, so remember this

I have also had really good luck with 3707. Has yielded as high as 135 bushel an acre for us, with good test weight. I like how the head sticks up well above the leaves much better than some other varieties.

Good input from others here. I'd agree on 28-05 & 37-07 being very versatile varieties. They yield & stand well.
