Subject: I need to get ccu codes from JD 7710

Bardstown, Ky
Can someone tell me how to do this? I'm trying to diagnose a pto issue. It will run a little bit and then shut off. The speed sensor is working, the solenoid has 12v when the pto is on and when I loose 12v, of course the pto goes off. I want to see what code it is throwing but the procedures I've come up with thru the internet aren't working right. Hope someone can help me out. TIA

My PTO cut-n-paste

Is the pto light flashing?
If it is a code will be set.
To check for codes move a fuse to the "diag" position, work the turn signal to get "CCU" in the display, pull the turn signal towards you (flash to pass position) to enter the CCU, use the turn signal to find address 1 and read the codes.
The FWD, diff lock, and PTO all use the same coil. These can get hot and fail, test by switching with another coil.
A bad pto speed sensor will cause the computer to dissengage the pto.
The PTO solenoid is on top of the PTO housing above the PTO shaft.

Put a spare fuse in the "Diag" location (2nd horizontal fuse, top row), use turn signal left/right to select CCU on tach, pull turn signal toward you (flash to pass) to enter ccu, select address #1 codes will be displayed.
072 rear pto circuit failed
073 rear solenoid/circuit failed
075 rear pto speed too low with pto on

To test the sensor/sensor circuit:
Select address 4
first digit 0, not used
second digit engine speed sensor
third digit pto speed sensor, should consistently change 0-1-0-1-0-1 as pto is turned by hand, no change or eratic signals indicates a sensor or wiring problem.

To test the switch/switch circuit:
Select address 9
first digit 0, not used
second digit rear pto "on" switch, should consistently change from 0 to 1 when the pto switch is turned on
third digit rear pto "off" switch, should consistently change from 1 to 0 when the pto switch is turned on. second and third digits must never be the same, they must be 010 or 001, if both switches are on or off at the same time for more than 2 seconds pto will be stopped.

The directions I found searching the Internet are similar to what you have here, when you say select address #1, would that be the same as 001, which is what the ones I have say? When I select this the display actually shows 2 different numbers, one in the center of the display and a smaller one in the bottom left corner. The display scrolls through quite a few of these. Are they all codes or am I doing something wrong? The website I found the instructions on, recommended to clear the codes and start fresh, which I tried but I could never get the display to show "end" so I could clear them. What do suspect I'm doing wrong? Thanks for the help!

The upper left 2 digit is the address, the lower left 3 digit is the data in that address.
If you have 01 in the upper it should read "CCU" in the lower for a few second then cycle through the codes.
To clear the codes turn on the warning flashers while END is displayed.
If you dont have a code swap the coil on the valve with the diff lock or fwd coil.

Here is the CCU code list

7810 CCU Codes
001 Fuel level sensor circuit
010 Engine coolant temperature high
011 Engine coolant temperature very high
012 Coolant temperature
013 Coolant temperature sensor/circuit shorted
015 Hydraulic oil temperature high
016 Hydraulic oil temperature very high
017 Hydraulic oil temperature sensor circuit open
018 Hydraulic oil temperature sensor circuit shorted
021 Engine oil pressure low (pressure switch)
023 Missing engine speed signal (PST only)
026 Transmission oil pressure low
030 Engine air filter restricted
035 Transmission oil filter restricted
045 System voltage to low (idle to 1500 rpm)
046 System voltage to low (above 1500 rpm)
047 System voltage to high (engine running)
050 Hydraulic oil filter restricted
067 Sensor power source (12v) missing fuse F1
072 Rear pto control switch error
073 Rear pto output driver circuit failure (driver commanded on)
075 Rear pto speed not present after pto on
076 Rear pto not set up correctly
078 Front pto switch off but solenoid on
079 Front pto switch on but solenoid off
080 Differential lock switch stuck on
081 Differential lock circuit fault with switch on
085 Mfwd control switch error
086 Mfwd circuit fault with switch off
093 Clutch cooling driver fault
101 Clutch cooling not allowed on this controller (pqt only)
102 Hms not allowed on this controller
103 HCU is preventing hms from being enabled because towed implement mode is active
104 Remote pto not allowed on this controller
105 Self canceling turn signals not allowed on this controller
106 Stuck hms switch at power up
125 Both turn signals are active
