Stop to get out of the tractor. Put it in park get back in and the shift lever will come out of park and go to the neutral position but the lever will not go to forward or reverse. Didnt throw any codes. Check 30 amp FNR fuse behind the seat and its good. Anyone have any ideas ? Will call the service manager in the morning. TIA

The lever won't physically move from the center into either reverse or forward?

I’d say you have a mechanical problem with the shift lever itself. To my knowledge, there is nothing in the assembly that prevents it from moving. Likely something has come apart or broken within the lever assembly.

Same thing happens if batteries go dead. I couldn't begin to guess why your computer hiccupped, but the procedure to get it out of park is in the 4- section of the manual (4-12? Maybe?). Something like hold the brakes, hold the neutral button, and remove from park position.

Needs a FNRP lever assy. Pretty common repair. Sometimes you can lube them up to last a little longer, but it’s only a temporary fix. The other problem with that lever is that the neutral button will stick, causing fault code 2387. The new lever assy. will have a different neutral button setup on it as well. Good luck!

Yup, happens on the smallest of Maxxums all the way through the biggest of Steigers and everything in between. The newer handle does seem to work better.
