I got me a older John Deere planter monitor, it is the kind with the four amber lights, the adjustment knob a on/off switch and a fuse. The model number is m6000 can anybody tell exactly what manual I need to order for this. It's not in my regular owners manual for the planter. I know it's old school and past it's time but figured it was better then nothing for my large sweet corn patch. Another question is what's the best way to adjust the knob for planting sweet corn and edible beans. Thanks guys

I use the same monitor. If you play around with it you will figure it out. Mine has a switch for high/low rate i use high rate. Take your seed boxes off plug in the monitor and turn it on. All lights should come on. Take a hand full of seed and trickle it down each seed tube the lights will go out for each row, and then when they come back on the alarm should sound.
There should be a chart on top of the monitor that says how to adjust the knob.
On mine it is so slow to react that i can make turns without the alarm going off.

If planting corn, lever in LOW,dial clockwise as far as it can go, start planting (and MAINTAIN A CONSTANT GROUND SPEED) and rotate the dial CCW 'til ALL 4 lights go off then CW 1 dash on the scale. At the the ends or drastic reduction in ground speed, the lights/alarm will let you know,

Haha, I have one of those monitors. Bought it because I was thinking of using it for my 5100 white soybean planter, but didn't want to use a distance wheel. Unfortunately its in the planter right now because my 2 6 row blinky light monitors I made a big mistake and forgot to pull the cords back in the cab when I was spreading fertilizer and the pto caught them...
Edit, forgot if anyone is looking for one, I have a 12 row pop monitor for sale ;)

tx68 - 6/5/2018 20:54 Is your monitor like mine shown here. To set it you start planting at the speed you want then turn the knob clockwise till the lights go out.
Ours is a 100 model quite similar to yours except 4 rows, our HI/LO switch is a toggle on lower left of the monitor and we turn the dial CCW 'til the lights go off. If a light comes on after the initial calibration, there is a potential issue with whatever row light is lit up.
