Local dealer is offering a difficult deal to pass up on a versatile 310. Wants to trade me out of my 2001 JD 8310 with 5300 hrs. Just wondering what the general feeling was on these machines. Thanks.

We just got one this spring. Only spent 3 days in it so far but i like it. Hyd system takes some getting used to setting speeds, timers, ect but on the flip side it is very precise and very customizable. The cab is HUGE. Like absolutely massive. Have a heated and cooled leather seat in ours too....thats pretty sweet. They are being very agressive on moving them.

I got one of the lease return 310's this spring as well. This one had 460 hrs on it with about every option that was available at a very attractive price. The way some of the controls work is different but easy to learn and so far I am happy with the tractor. The only dislikes I have are that it is louder in the cab ( I think a lot of this could be reduced with a taller exhaust tip), and the smartrax- Envisio pro guidance is a bit sub par compared to the Trimble I am used to.

There are a few in the area one guy has around 4,000 hours on a 290 mixing feed and about the same on a 310 that does tillage and tanker work. No complaint from him other than the 310 could use more rubber to put the power to the ground. I heard he's trading in a magnum 8920 in on a 260

Had a 290 since 2014, got a new 260 last fall, the 2014’s were their new series tractors, those had some growing pains.
the 260 we have, has been pretty good.

I could. Just looking to keep things updated and the deal seems rediculously inexpensive. I do not have any complaints about the 8310 other than needing tires pretty soon.

We ran one for a bit while we waited for our 400 Versatile to come in. Cabs were identical. As for noise, seem quieter than our 8430 and 8230 Deere. Not sure if I'd trade an 8XXX series deere in on one, but if I were adding a tractor, or had pre 8000 series deere, I would really consider one.

Came to the decision last night to keep it. It has been an excellent tractor. It has 5400 hrs. I am currently leasing an 8295R from Deere and like it. Three year lease expires this fall. When I asked what their trade price was for the three year old 8295R it was 90,000 more than I could have traded for a brand new 2018 versatile 310!

I'm running a 310 on my planter this year. I like it so far. Running outback GPS. Still learning everything about the tractor and new GPS. We priced a 2 year old 8310r and the lease was exactly double what the versatile was. Yes there is resale bla bla bla but when your paying half what jd be charging you the resale can be less.
