I know lots of guys love these tractors including me. https://hagerauction.hibid.com/catalog/129082/jay-and-lisa-huppert/ this auction is in my part of the country. It's pretty low houred, and is on a small farm. The guy that owns it, is an excellent farmer. Just thought I'd share. If I had the money, I'd love to own it.

Back in the day Deere dealer in West Salem "Evans" would get 3 or 4 new 140 hp with mfd and rent them to local Coop to put anydrous on side dress. Anyway I stopped to get some parts in summer of 1992, owner Charlie Evans himself told me that Don and I could have our pick of any of the 4455 mfds, powershift with only 200 hrs after they came back from Coop for $44k. At the time it was a sweet deal, its just that Don and I were buying so much farmland at the time, plus didnt know when the next farm was comming for sale, so we just kept plugging away with the old Case tractors that were past there prime. Glad we didnt, as we bought more land within the next 3 years.

Anywho; That 4455 2wd should fetch good money.

Yes, almost always farm land is a better investment. However, as far as equipment goes, you can't get much better than those 4455s. Say you would have bought that tractor. If it had 10000 hrs today, it would be close to that price today in value. And in 10000 hrs, it wouldn't have needed much. I owned 2. The first one I bought in 05. It had 5492 hrs on it. 2 wheel, quad, 18.4 42s. It was perfect, and I kept it that way. I used it as my main tractor on my 50 cow dairy. I put 1000 hrs on it, and sold it for $2500 more than I paid for it. The second one was a 2 wheel quad, 18.4 38s, 9400 hrs? Repainted, but nice. I traded that one in on my 8200. I got $4000 more than I paid on trade. I did nothing to either of those tractors except fluids and filters. Some day I'd like to have another one.

We used to try pulling a 32' field cultivator with our mfwd 4455. It really made that thing snort, but it somehow did it. Great tractor would take one again if I had the cash.

They are the little tractor that could. The first 4455 I had was really strong. I used to turn it up and pull it at the fair every year. It always placed in the top 3. That's coming off the chopper and turning it up and washing it. Beating up on people's hobby tractors. I had a friend with a 1066 that got a reman 466 put in it. He was bragging about how much power it had. I laughed and said my 44 would murder it. He said no way. I said pull it at the fair. I let the 16 year old kid that was milking for me pull it. He put 60 feet on him. I let the kid pull it, so my buddy couldn't say it was the driver. The other 4455, the salesman that I traded with bought it. It was their big tractor. Then they bought a 4640 to do tillage with and could leave the 4455 on the planter. He says the 44 will out pull the 46. All of the 44s, actually starting with the 4320 are small tractors that can do big jobs. Perfect dairy farm tractors.

Is that a sliding back glass? I’ve never seen a back window like that

Sliding rear windows was not uncommon here in Wisconsin, so much equipment had hand controls bolted to the hitches from the factory back then to regulate what the equipment was doing, spout on choppers, kicker on small square balers, pulling rope for swing hitches, etc etc.

That makes sense I couldn’t figure out what the reason would be for that
