Nebraska, The land of corn and cattle | 87 wouldve been the very last of the 155s, IIRC 88-90 was the 100 series. If it needs an overhaul, call Maibach tractor and have Brad send you a kit, they are top notch guys and it will have the military sleeves and pistons, they are much better materials and raise the compression by a point. Last I checked he has some 22-1 pistons left if you wanna get real crazy.
If youve got good oil pressure and dont need a clutch, you can get by with just an inframe, the bottom end of these motors are built extremely stout, and usually dont have many issues. You cannot change the main bearings inframe, but Id pull one just to be sure of the condition. You will need a special wrench to get to some of the head bolts. If the tractor is nice, and you like it, have Maibach send you the bigger turbo too, it makes a big difference. We did the exact same recipe to a 155 and without putting it on a dyno, which Id like to do, seat of the pants tells me its all of 180 pto hp, probably more, I know it has alot more pep than our 160 White does.
There are a few differences in the LDT465, especially the multi fuel, the injection system is different for one, and some other things, but Im not real sure. I would check over on Yesterdays Tractor or Brad might know. Dont think about being able to use the multifuel option though, it was for fit hits the shan times only.
Fawazhay did a 135 and I think hes pretty happy with it.
BTW did you end up getting that 8710 Brandon? |
