Thoughts on good quality/value on gooseneck trailers? Looking at dual tandems with ~10,000 lb axels, tilt bed. Looking to haul small excavator <15,000lb, skid loader (skid steer for some of you ;) ha), seed (ProBoxes and pallets), etc. Looking at pulling with semi tractor with ball plate installed. thanks in advance!

I thought I seen they had a galvanized option. I personally lean that way rather than paint, depending on cost. It would also depend if you could get it set up exactly how you want it, so you woundnt have to weld to it.

We have a 35ft Midsota with same axels and wheel set up you speak of. Has an electric beaver tail. We really like it, no complaints.

Midsota builds a great trailer and has better pricing then Felling, Towmaster and RediHaul trailer mfgers. Midsota is every bit as good as the other listed.
Midsota can more easily special order or special build for less money then the above named.

The galvanized is a great option to consider - if you plan to keep the trailer for 5 yrs or more, it'll more then pay for itself in repainting costs. Gravel roads really play havoc on paint (even the best quality paint job or powder coated paint). Galvanized doesn't chip or sand blast off like painted products. In our Mn winters, even the best paint will be subjected to rust. Galvanized, not so much.

Hey now, I work at Felling Trailers. Yes they are not cheap but are well build.

Any opinions on Big Tex Trailers? I noticed they are lower priced which could mean lower quality

Bought a trailer similar to a big Tex, I can’t think of the name right now, but built in Oklahoma. I regret every time I use it buying a cheaper one. Haul pro boxes and hay with ours mostly and it’s built too light. Twisted a little one of the first times we used it. Came with ST tires on it, blew four out the second year and replaced the other four, all LT tires now. Ours is a 32ft. Make sure you get good tires from the factory. I wish we would have just payed for a better one.

Get 3 inch X1/4 channel stringers at 16 inches apart. 4 inch would be better if you are gonna be at max weight most of the time.2x8 flooring. Wide ramps if you get a dovetail. You got plenty of hp to pull with so get one that will hold up. Don't matter who makes it, That is what it takes to make a trailer bed last. The rest of the stuff is accessories.

I use a 26ft that is over built. It makes a pickup struggle when it is empty, but it is 40 yrs old and I don't see a reason it won't last another 50.

Hull Trailers? Anyone have experience with them? They do not have dealers so they are priced better (cutting out middleman). See link
