Subject: looking for oil specs on a Hyster H50XL forklift

Dresden, Ontario
would anybody on here have some info on what type of hydraulic oil and transmission oil to use in a Hyster H50XL forklift, it was built in the 1988 and unfortunately we do not have a service/operating manual for this unit.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I run hyguard in them. The H50 has a filter that clamps inline. Might be a good time to change it. They are a Mazda engine. Engines take 10-30 oil.

NE OK
It's j-20c, so hygard is fine.

Thanks a lot guys! that was some helpful info, I couldn't remember for the life of me what we changed it with before.
Have all the filters here including the clamped inline.

Yes had a H35 and have a H90 also a JD 482C and had a few others in between all take Hyguard. It's fine for the F/R clutch.

West central Ohio
We have a H50XL also. Book and service guy says AW32 (or ISO 32) hydraulic oil. Service guy said do not use regular HyGard. It is too heavy. Regular HyGard is between AW 46 and AW 68 in viscosity. Lo-vis HyGard meets AW32 specs (about 10w). He uses AW32 hydraulic oil from O'Reilly's in all the lifts he services. Has several hundred under service contract.

In that forklift you can use one fluid for both hydraulic oil and transmission, we’d recommend Mobilfluid 424 which meets JDM J20C specification.
