West Central IL | We demo'd one a couple years ago when we were waiting on our leased 400 to be shipped from the factory. Cabs are the same on both tractors. Lot's of room. Temp control in the 400, Imagineering same in 310, I can't remember is supposed to be automatic, had a bit of trouble keeping it at temp depending if the sun went behind a could or not. It think they had an update for that though. The auto steer that they push, ravens, we couldn't get it to work on either tractor, dealer was out trying to fix it, never did get it going. They took it out of the 400 before delivery and put in a Trimble system and it works great. They are built like a tractor, not as refined as a deere. We run all Deere's too besides this one. But the controls and comfort level I would say is the same. The engines are cummins, so I wouldn't be scared of them. I don't remember what power shift they use on the FWA, the 4x4 uses cat, but I thing those use something else. A couple of things, there's a lot of buttons. You have to turn the hydraulics on with a button before you can use them each time you start the tractor. To turn all the lights on, you have to push 3 different buttons. To make it move, you have to push a safety button on the shifter lever before you push it forwards or if you change directions. That becomes a pain on the grain cart, your index finger will start hurting after a while, but, I put a 1/4" nut on it, and wrapped the shifter with electric tape to hold the button in. I never have to press it, even after restarting it now. If it weren't a leases machine I would take the shifter apart and bypass that switch. I don't see how it's a safety feature, when it doesn't take off, you normally look at the button and take your eyes away from where your going. |
