We don't buy anything but Petlas. Far cheaper, but heaver, deeper lugs last longer than many of the big brands. We've got them on the combine, 4wd and 2wds...on road, off road they are excellent.

My tire guy says they are junk. But I did put a set of new take off Petlas 460R-38s on a tractor this spring just prior to selling it. They rode nicer than the radials they replaced.

Counting them up we've bought 22 Petlas tires with no issues...however although they are radials we don't run real low air pressure in our tires...maybe others have and its caused side wall issues?

That's what I'm wondering as well. All of the radials we have we run pretty standard pressures in them. I don't like broken tires. How long have you had your oldest set?

We needed new tires on a 8320 a few years ago when prices were high. Petlas was about 1/2 price of Firestones at that time so decided to give them a try. Currently have about 2200 hours on them. The only complaint so far is they outside tires seem to have a fair bit of stubble checking at the lugs. This is from wheat straw. Everyone likes Michelin, but you could give me a set. The last three sets I had on various tractors didn't make it to 2500 hours before the sidewalls gave out. Michelins are what these Petlas's replaced.

I put a set on a Killbross 550 bu grain cart over 10 years ago. I was impressed for the money. Sold it to a neighbor and as far as I know they are still going strong.

Put a set on dad 80 hp loader. Likely 3 -4 yrs ago. They were cheap an we went size wider an still cheap. We run around 20 - 25 psi in fronts think they are 320 something 24s. Wen we lift a seed tote they are flat on the rim but it only does wen i a pinch to load seeder. Round haylage they squat a bit. Tractor got 350hrs last yr so guessing well over 1000 hrs tractor rarely leaves the concrete yard . Fronts are starting to show ware but back are almost new. Have hear all sorts of wild storys about guys ripping lugs out an side walls giving out but if the front take it on this tractor then they obviously arent complete crap. We tend to run mostly BKTs on anything that needs retired. But last tractor we slipped to Galaxys for 710/70/r38 4 yr feild hazard warranty sounds exciting.

Didn't read all responses, figured some best thing since sliced bread to absolutely junk. I can only give my personal experience. Needed some tires for an M3 combine. Supplier had some Petlas (only in five state area). Put them on and ran them for 2 years on 600 acres each year. I was absolutely ecstacic about how they performed. They could very well have fallen apart the next couple of years.

I have 8 20.8-38/520-38 on a small 4wd about 6 years ago love the traction and there wearing extreamly well but the side walls are cracking bad. Some do not hold air very long any more. I put there version of 18.4-38 on a MFWD Oliver. Turns out there tire is much smaller and it caused problems with my MFWD ratio. I traded them back in for Mitas tires which corrected the problem. Mitas on the right Petlas on the left. Photo of cracking tire was 2 years old at the time.
