Never from that company but between myself and family we've had several "aftermarket" warranties for vehicles. Everyone single one was a royal PITA when it came time to collect.

Yea, get calls about once a week on those. Was hoping this might be different.

The founder of that company is a manager for Midwest Machinery. No experience with their warranty but Jake is a good guy.

Edit to add that we do have experience with a warranty thru them, on an r4038 sprayer we bought from midwest. Talked to our salesman today about that company and he said he has had good luck, they do a lot with them. The warranty is thru Ag Guard. We have not had to make a claim, hopefully don't have to.

They are a big rip off! I have to deal with them and half the time they don't cover the problem, the other times they only pay part, no diagnosis, they beat us up on labor.

Thanks, that's what I was afraid of. How many times have you had to try to get warranty work covered through them?

Jmo1999 - My name is Jacob Bryce and I am the founder of Machinery Scope. To give you a little background, my family farms near Glenwood, MN (Bryce Farms if you want to verify), I spent a few years with Titan Machinery, then moved on to manage multiple locations for Midwest Machinery (a family owned John Deere dealer in central MN), and for the past 18 months I have served as Midwest Machinery's Remarketing (fancy word for used equipment) Manager. I understand agriculture, farm equipment, and I hope to offer a good service to farmers and dealers alike to help manage the risk associated with farm equipment. I care very much about the products that we are offering and that they are of good value. I have never posted on this forum, but seeing your concerns is why I have chosen to do so now.

I started our company back in 2013 because I was looking for better solutions to protect equipment. This equipment has gotten very expensive and so have the failures. As a dealer, we want to help manage the risk for our customers. That's why we offer extended warranty products to our customers. As a farmer, I think that it is very important to maintain and protect these investments as best as possible. I didn't feel as though we had enough of the right kind of solutions in the marketplace. Let me give you a few examples: We didn't have any protection plans available for combines or sprayers over 1500 hours, customer owned equipment, competitive equipment, etc. So that leaves a lot of high dollar equipment across the country completely exposed to the cost of expensive mechanical failures. We wanted to change that.

Now, let me give you (and everyone else that reads this board), a little background to Machinery Scope. We work with OEM dealers, independent dealers, auction companies, etc. all across North America. Many of the people that we work with are close friends of mine. I am not interested in selling them something I don't believe in. The products that we are offering through dealers, etc. are tailored specifically for the end users needs with multiple plan options (coverage types, hours, years, etc.).

I believe that we represent a quality product. It pays retail price for parts; posted shop rate; and at or above the standard job codes. However, this is not factory warranty. It carries a deductible. It does not cover travel time (neither does factory warranty, but most people don't know that your dealer is generally covering that out of their pocket). It does not cover certain wear items such as a dry clutch or boggie wheels. It does not cover parts that weren't within the coverage plan that was purchased (for example, it won't cover a hydraulic pump if you only purchased the powertrain plan instead of the powertrain plus hydraulic). It does not cover freight on parts (again, generally factory warranty does not cover freight either). These are just a few examples for you. For a list of general covered components, feel free to visit our website and scroll to the bottom for the covered components chart.

That said, I would like to learn more about your issue. I believe very firmly that we are supporting a good product that delivers real value so if there is something that was missed, we would be glad to review it. We do not take these things lightly and we are always an advocate for you if there is reasonable justification for your concern. And if you or anyone else would like references to any of the other dealers or customers that we have worked with across the country, I would be happy to provide them to you. As I mentioned earlier in the post, I am the founder, but I do also serve as remarketing manager for Midwest Machinery. If you want to reach out to me in the early morning or in the evening, I would be glad to take your call. Otherwise send me an email with your name, phone number, and the details of your equipment coverage, and I will get that in the hands of Joe or Darrin to follow up with you immediately.

Respectfully,

Jake Bryce

Jake, you sound legit. I have had problems with a lot of aftermarket warranty companies. However that being said about 4 yrs. ago I had to deal with 1 and had absolutely no problem with them, they were not the usual call up to describe problem only to have them beat me up for price, talking to a guy on the phone that had no idea what the part was except for what a computer told him, and him telling me the customer was response for that. I can't remember the name of the company.

My name is Jacob Bryce, founder of Machinery Scope. Back in 2017 I posted here to respond to someone seeking information. A lot has changed since then, and I wanted to provide that information being I am still hearing of people seeking information and finding this post. When we first started, we partnered with another administrator to bring extended warranty options to the farm equipment marketplace. It filled a gap, but our vision for the value proposition, seamless experience that we wanted to offer, and our mission to build a program that would last meant that needed to bring it in house. We’ve taken that experience including our time in the dealership and in our own farming operations, collaborated with many farmers and equipment dealers across the country, and built our own fully administered programs that are fully insured through one of the very best in the business. That means the programs are not only practical but also fully insured and financially secure.

What We Offer Today (as of 8/18/2025):

Coverage for Tractors up to 15 years / 5,500 hours; Combines, sprayers, floaters, forage harvesters, windrowers, and cotton harvesters up to 15 years / 3,500 hours; Skid steers, mini excavators, compact wheel loaders, and telehandlers up to 15 years / 3,500 hours

Coverage Options: Powertrain, Powertrain+, and Ultimate

Customization: Multiple deductible choices, 1- to 3-year terms, and flexible usage options

Dealer-Friendly Qualification: Simple inspection at the dealership to confirm no pre-existing issues

Coverage Availability: On a wide range of Makes & Models

Claims Support: Straightforward process with friendly, knowledgeable support staff

Reimbursement: Posted shop rate on labor, MSRP on parts (no cap), plus travel time, mileage, or hauling reimbursement

Why It Matters? Our goal has always been simple: create better risk management solutions for equipment owners while helping dealers close more deals, generate or preserve margin, and keep customers satisfied. With today’s equipment costs and repair bills, the value of real coverage backed by financial strength is greater than ever. If you’d like to hear from other dealers or farmers who have used our programs, we would be happy to provide references. You can find our contact information at machineryscope.com
