Subject: Vermeer 605K Baler

Northeast ks
I am thinking of buying a 605K. We bought a Vermeer 504 Silage about ten years new and it has done a good job.
A few 605K questions
-What size and weight bales can you get from it?
-Will an 04 Dodge Ram 2500 single cab 4x4 with a hydra bed handle two of these bales?
-Can I add net wrap to it?
-Also, major problems you have had

We had J's and XL's so don't have any first-hand experience with the K's but have heard the fiberglass doors can be a real P-I-T-A due to warping and sagging.

You should be able to make pretty close to the same weight bales out of the K as might come out of any newer baler as long as the air bags, belts, etc. are still good.  So if you're inclined, you can really load up a 3/4 ton pickup if that's what you want.  Neighbors had to add air bag assist to their 3/4 ton '99 Dodge with hydrabed (hauling 2 "XL" bales) when they went to a slightly taller tire than the originals.  They seem to get along decent with that setup.

Vermeer no longer offers the "K" net add on. You will have too find one out of a junkyard or the dealer that I use bought the last 10 that they made. He has some of them left. Let me know if you want his number. I think that the K will make a bale close too what the L's and XL's make.

I know this is an old thread. But do you think your dealer would still have any net wrap add on left for the K baler? I would be interested.

Have no idea. Bought a 504I twine tie instead.
