I've never seen one before, so I had to look. Interesting setup!

Advantages: They use 16" offset openers (good for no-till) and then use 18" closing discs right behind (should also work for no-till). Looks like they used a vacuum system for the seed metering.

The disadvantages I see: it looks like the gauge wheels are connected to the closing discs which means the depth control is behind the openers and therefore your seed depth might vary in uneven conditions. Landoll always builds their equipment heavy, so that might be a disadvantage in soft conditions.

Unkefer Equipment sells a lot of Landoll equipment, so you might want to check with them on parts. I did see one on Auctiontime right now and they had some Shoup parts on it..... http://www.auctiontime.com/listings/farm-equipment/auctions/online/...

I think that that is the old Deutz Allis planter.

The meter uses positive air pressure and is quite similar to a White planter meter.

I always thought that the quad disk opener setup was interesting but that the parts seemed pretty expensive.

Yes, it is the Deutz- Allis planter. They sold it to Landoll. I think Allis Chalmers designed it before they sold out, but never got it to market.
