european tractors for sale by the east cost?

Subject: european tractors for sale by the east cost?


west central iowa		Any one on here buy one or currently using one? I'm looking at a magnum that's for sale in Pennsylvania that came from the united kingdom. Should a proceed or stay away? The pictures look good. I'm a little concern about the tractor having over sized tires.

our  4450  came from  Germany. 

 Originally  semi-built in Waterloo,   and  final assembly in  Mannheim.    Did it's tour  for about 10 years, and  ended back up in South Dakota on a dealer lot.. Then our  machine shed.

Can't really complain,  it was  priced  'right' at the time.    It came back stateside  with  steel rear wheels (like bolt on  duals use)    and  zero ballast.    Keeps  shipping  weight to a minimum. 

Really,  the only thing visibly different was the lighting.  And  the warning decals  were of course in German.

North West PA Or 20 yrs behind the West		Mountain view equipment?? I was at that dealer few years ago and I know local guy that bought tractor. Seemed like pretty straight dealer.

My 4055 and 7600 came from HTR .

I have 4 European "re-imports"  
The 8100 and 6400 both from the UK .
4055 is from France . 7600 not 100% sure of its origin .
The 8100 had 6300 hrs , now 7600 . 6400 was 5300 now 6500 . Ran  engine and trans oil and  antifreeze  analysis on arrival .
Oil was all good . Ran oil that was in them 300 hours before changing . Change filters once a year on all .
Changed water pump on 8100 as a precaution . It looked good , still replaced it  . Replaced  radar that didnt work  with a GPS unit . Almost forgot did do a front axle seal 2 years ago . 
6400 has had 2 oil cooler hoses replaced .  

I have been more then pleased with my tractors . I prefer the way they are equipped compared to US speced tractors .  4055 and 7600 almost to 10000 hrs . 7600 did need some trans work at 8000 hrs . 4055 Has had axle seals on the right  side several times .

He's right.  The radars are different between US and UK tractors.  I don't know about other European radars.

Ludington/Manistee MI area		Uncles each have a Genesis from I believe the U.K. they don't have any issues a typical Genesis wouldnt have. Seems for a tractor that vintage axles are extra short maybe they all are short.

Northeast Pennsylvania		Have a euro genesis also. I think the axles are 108 vs 112 and the trans has two more gears. Otherwise identical... just cheaper.

For the gamblers out there who buy sight unseen, it only costs 2k to put import in a container

Penn Yan, NY		I have a 6920S that came from the UK, it needed a lot of work but I knew that it would when I bought it. It was priced accordingly.

the 6920S is a model that was never available on this side of the pond but I have yet to have any trouble sourcing parts.

I wouldn't have any concerns.

6920S Euro = 7520 USA (basicly)

Yep, check out the specs. on 6X10 rowcrop tractors with higher numbers than a 6410.

Used to be if a model was if a model was not sold in your part of the world the parts book may not even be in the dealers computer.

Yep, at one time I was opposed to buying those EURO tractors. Parts availability on some things were a pain. Today, I wouldn't sweat it.

Sioux County, NWIA		I just bought a European CIH MX Maxxum this year, from an southern importer. So far so good. Fairly sure the tractor came from the U. K. The lighting is switched differently than NA versions. The drawbar can also be different than NA tractors.

upstate New York		I bought my 4255 mfd from mountain view and I've been extremely happy with it and have not had a single issue, parts are readily available and there's not much difference between it and the American version besides the lights, steel wheels and a parking break, I switched it to cast wheels so I could add weights, installed American style led lights and would buy another in a heartbeat, mountain view treated me excellent, tractor was exactly as he described over the phone

Alberta, Canada		The only European tractor I ever looked at was showing something over 4000 hrs but had obviously been past 9999 at least once.
