I didn't think those were all that rare. Not common, but not rare

I had a 4255 powershift 4 post just like that. Sold it to a fellow ag talker.

I just read your link. Be nice if that information was in your post. Says they only made 10 and 9 of those were exported. I wonder if that is an accurate number. Wonder what the 4255 numbers were?

I too would like to know where that number comes from.
there are more four post tractors than you think. Pretty popular on hi way construction.

A couple of us were wondering about the rest of the story on this tractor. The 4 post rops and the 42s pretty much ruled it out as being a Mexican 4455. I figured it was a Waterloo built, so not a synchro. I just figured it was a quad. I've seen open station 40/4255s, never a 44, but aside from the Mexican ones. I can't believe they got it with a powershift! Wow

Back in the day there were several 4455 open station tractors for sale locally at the red dealer.  Story was they were destined for Mexico and order got cancelled.  I don't recall what tranny they had or if they had a roll guard or were 'topless'.

In the early 90s Blanchard Equipment Co in Waynesboro Georgia had several open station 4455s for sale although I don't recall what transmission they had. Also at one time the Georgia Department of Corrections had a few of them on the farm at Reidsville. They were all ROPS equipped.

We bought a 4255 4 post new. PS, 3 outlets + power beyond. 14.6 X 46 duals. I guess we'd considered a 4455 equipped the same, and did buy one identical to the 4255 except it had a cab.

Four post and open station have different meanings.JD had the Mexican 4455 which usually had a factory two post, smaller axles and 3pt ,and syngro only. They are desired as they had the 466 and were lighter.I have seen a few 4255 with 4 post and I don't know if there were any true open stations.I have had a couple 4040s that were true open stations and suppose to get a 4240 and 4440 from same family but many don't think there were any 4440 so we will see.Personally I don't care for the 4 post but everyone is different.

I am not sure if these are all that rare or not. I just brought one home too.
