Subject: Where can I buy used seed totes - pro boxes?


Kingdom of Callaway - Fulton, Mo 65251

We are getting back in the seed cleaning business. We have been cleaning more and more wheat and cover crop stuff every year. We like the seed totes as we can fill them on rainy days and store them without worrying about mice.

Does anyone know where I can buy a bunch of them?

swohio		I would also like to get at least one to use for cover crop seed. Thought of trying to make one.

West Union, IOWA FLOLO Farm 52175		I just asked my pioneer dealer a couple yrs ago..... June they had an order program, could buy new for what I'd heard guys paying for used....

Is it possible to use ICB (caged liquid totes) totes ? If you had a rotator for the forklift and could keep them dry under cover ? Or tote bags ? If temporary storage ?

I can't recall where I came a crossed it, but someone was making their own out of metal (welded together). It was about half cost of new plastic.

This is why I save my big seed bags, for covers and stuff. Realize they are not weather or mouse proof but they work.

NE Indiana		I hauled new boxes to various seed companies for eight years. All new boxes are made in Bluffton Indiana at a place called Buckhorn. I know there are patents on them but wouldn't hurt to call and ask if they have any for sale direct.

Northern Illinois		You probably won't be able to buy direct from Buckhorn. I am a Dekalb/Asgrow dealer and every year they have an early purchase program through Farm Chem for dealers. You will have a hard time finding used seed boxes I am guessing. Your best bet is to find a Becks dealer who recently switched from Pioneer because Becks supplies treated beans in boxes. So they are usually looking to get rid of boxes. I know of a couple different guys who had that happen and were looking to sell used boxes. Otherwise most dealers like me don't have a reason to sell.

Auxvasse, MO		Got mine from pioneer dealer when they had a special price saved some money but still cost a lot commodities traders international has some steel boxes they make for seed handling google the name

Holland, Indiana (SW IN)		We bought 4 from Fibertech they are located close to the intersection of I64 and I69 just N of Evansville IN address is Elberfeld IN

They rebuild boxes IIRC $350 each for used seconds don't know if that is cheap or high we needed some for CC seeds hated to just see the tender sit there didn't check around for prices. They looked like new.
