Subject: 4430 electrical problem - dome light

The dome light quit working. I was spraying this fall and was running controller from 12v outlet in cab. Didn't think the dome light and 12v was on same circuit, but now the dome doesn't have power to it after part of the harness grounded on the quick hitch. Cig lighter does have 12v. I pulled the dome light out and tested at the harness, no power to light or switch. At the fuse panel I do have 12v at the #4 (dome). Somewhere I'm missing a connection. Is there a fuse I'm missing somewhere?

Between Omaha and Des Moines, 7 miles South of I80

I can only tell you that the wiring loom, at the entry door (for wiper motor and door switch) are a common problem area, on 4440 tractors {= dome light doesn't work.}

They say the constant opening and closing of entry door, flexes that wire loom, and causes a break in the internal wires(inside harness).

Had it happen on our 4440, and later, was told it was a common issue, by JD mechanics and JD parts guys.(Wish I had known that, earlier, because it would have saved some trouble-shooting time)

Edit: I just read your other reply = I guess a 4430 is different.

The door button is the ground for dome light, should still work with the switch on the dome light when you get power to the switch. Problem area is the 9 pin connector under right front corner of cab.
