+2,, we have a Troy-Built Bronco that I bought about 3 yrs ago for my grandson to use. Mainly bought it on the Troy-Built name. It's not heavy enough to hold itself back against the blades & will "take off" unless you're holding back against it with most of your weight. Prior to it we had a Gillson rear tine tiller. It was a lot heavier, even had front end weights, and could operate it with just one hand to keep it going in a straight line.

Go for the Honda. The Troy built is a clunky design that has been around for 50 years or more with little improvement.
The best one is probably the BCS, but they are expensive.

I think you asked about the "old" Troybuilt. I know nothing of the Honda but do know the old Troybuilt are a great machine. That said, some parts are getting nearly impossible to find anymore. Our old Horse model was originally bought by my aunt 40 years ago. It works great but needs a new main shaft. I'd like to know where to get one!
I've had good luck looking up the part numbers and then using google to find parts for these old tillers. Click on the "I accept" button and it will download the master parts book with break downs and part numbers. Thought maybe this would help you find parts.

Years ago our Troy Built we were using broke a belt. No big deal, but on a weekend. A neighbor had a Kubota. It even had assisted steering with made it drive like a Cat. My here was one lever in each handle. That tiller made the Troy look stupid.

Wife bought a new Honda this spring. She kept complaining that it would leap away from her. So of course I didn't believe her and I tried it. Did the same thing to me. Took it back and they checked it out and said there was nothing wrong, so she had them run it in front of her in attest area. Come to find out we were setting the depth gauge wrong! It adjusts the opposite of our old Craftsman rear tine.
As soon as we got that figured out it has been great! Our old Craftsman is much like the Troybilt.
