Subject: Need Tractor Exhaust Pipe Fix..Pic

Eldridge, Iowa
The exhaust pipe on my White 6175 tractor is rusted out at the bend at the corner of the cab. I am afraid to price a whole new pipe from my AGCO dealer! Any ideas how to fix this without breaking the bank? The pipe is 4.5" in diameter and the bend is not exactly 90 degrees. Thanks.

Its a long shot but maybe try a truck shop ? An exhaust shop might be able to stretch a 4in pipe, to work?

Our NH8970 suffered the same ailment. Dad took it in to a local muffler shop and they in effect welded short lengths of flat steel around the bend. It's not pretty, but was a whole lot cheaper than a new pipe. I could get pics in the morning. Tractor's outside right now.

Take it to an exhaust shop and have a new one made. We have done it and is much cheaper and won't look cobbled.

My 6175 was crapped out in that area and around aspirator tube location. Replacement was over $900. I took it home and fashioned some patches and welded them on. I would use truck shop if close by. That side of elbow isn't that visible.

Throme mfg might be able to help you, the wierd part is that isn't 5 inch like most trucks, and that 4 1/2 inch pipe isn't available everywhere.

If you had a bunch of emissions stuff on the tractor, it wouldn't do that.

They are out of Litchfield MN. I bet if you called them direct they would be able to bend what ever you would need for an angle.
