Subject: John Deere sound guard cab interior

I'm thinking about redoing the cabs of my 4430 and 8430 john deere tractors. Probably going to go with the 50 series color as I think it looks better than black, but my main question is what have you guys done interior wise to add to comfort,ease, or just custom things inside you've made other than the cab kits itself. I added the caddy for the right hand side that has a cup holder and little area to hold a notepad, change etc. that came from shoups or Sloan.. I found this nice little cab storage and cup holder online but it seems awful pricey to me!!! Any pictures and ideas would be great. Thanks!

I would go with the tan from the 60 series. It doesn't show dust as bad as the brown in the 50 series.

I like adding the cowl cover on the 30-40 series that didn't have them. Also, its nice to have a holder and hard wired charger for cell phones rather than using the one in the dash.

Only bad part about changing to the tan upholstery is that the bezel around the radio and heat/ac controls are still black. Looks goofy IMO. Also, the 50 series 4WD are supposed to have upholstery on the side cover of the side council. not sure if that comes in the kit or not.

JTPFarm, do you feel the cowl cover makes the tractor quieter? I just redid a 4640, but didnt do the cowl cover.

I think it helps. I glued sound deadening material to the back of mine also. I did notice it doesn't get as hot as the factory steel one.

A pic of my 6030 interior, which has a 4430 cab. Used the 2-tone 55 series upholstry instead of black. Also upgraded to the newer ashtray and put in a monitor caddy up front.

Make your own cup holder the caddy can't hold a bottle of water upright sitting still let alone in the field
