Subject: Case 290 and 340 Magnums

I'm having an ungodly amount of problems with hydraulic functions, leaks, noise and malfunctions like remotes stop working and autosteer will not settle down. Hydraulic temperature is too high. Poor support from Case and My dealer. They both tell me they are working on the problem but after 3 years , I think I still waiting for the bride to show up to the church. Many other farmers are having the same problems. Very frustrated when you have $600,000 tied up in two tractors that sit in the barn. Lemons....

My 290 always ran high hydraulic temp on my sprayer. Dealer recommended adding a bypass valve which didn't help either. I spent a lot of time sitting and cooling down the hyd oil when I should have been spraying. Quite a few sensor issues as well. Its gone and its ben replaced with a green one that runs much cooler hydraulics. Hard to beat JD hydraulics.

Eastern VA. No such thing as too many Magnums.
My Magnum tech friend doesn't like the 290s, 315s, 340s as well as the previous series. (275s, 305s, 335s) he said they definitely went backwards in the hydraulic reliability dept.

Case Magnum 290 and 340 updates. No improvement after dealer has tested bypass valves and replaced thermostats in hydrualic system. Parking brake solenoids failed. Hydraulic leaks continue. Remotes are failing daily. Extended warranty has more excuses than a high school kid. Dealership and Mechanics can't tell the truth or just don't know how to fix ANYTHING. I FEEL SO STUPID. I should have never put my faith in Case IH as i have owned John Deere all of my life with very little trouble in 35 years. Case will never get our business again. And everything we have with DEF has thrown codes but the dealer can't find the problem with any of the THree machines. Money pits and Fraudulent dealer and Cowardly Manufacturer argues every warranty claim. Red is Done on our farm!
