we got some for the mainframe of our chisel plow....of course the first day we ran them one went flat. Just the valve stem failed and we have never had trouble since. Ran them 3 years and we are happy we did it. Make sure you double check with someone on how the sizing goes...We ordered wrong the first time, measure the overall hight of the tire your replacing and then add like 2 inches or something...too long ago to remember exactly but it was something different like that, we got ours mounted on new rims...not sure if thats the only way they come but i suppose sizing might be different if you got rims you are planning on using.

We have thorns of every shape and size. The tires from gensco will handle that and much more. Probably 5 or 6 years ago we had 22 front flats not had one since getting the tires from gensco. They do ride a little rough.

We have them on a Woods Batwing cutter that we use for mowing CRP land. They've held up well.

Slicker than a Yes album.
Excellent service and products. If you need rims as well, have them mount and put in the tire sealant. Your tire guy may not like you after mounting larger ones. We had the coop guy do 4 that replaced some 12-15's and he really had to work to get them mounted.

Chebanse, IL.....

We've used them in the past on bat-wing & gauge wheels for a deep ripper (always went flat). They're just fine. They're heavy tires (weigh a lot). Of course, they're many more plies than implement tires. Probably something like 20-30 ply. So, they'll be stiff also.

Re. mounting them on rims, I didn't know you could even put them on ordinary rims, never heard of that. We always bought the rims with them. They supply a split, 2-piece rim. You tell them the bolt pattern, etc.

I've had them mounted on regular rims, but I'll add, I was banned from several local gas stations because of them. 11.00 16's were the worst ones we mounted. Never went flat though.

I got a set of 11.00x16's on the front of my loader tractor, they are 16 ply and they are 37" tall. Never had a problem with them in 6 years. I ordered mine mounted, ready to go.

I concur with getting rims AND sealant. We bought one for a GP drill. Worked great for a couple of years until one day I noticed it was flat. We found that it had an extremely small air leak. Got it fixed and it went flat the next day. Tuned out to have dozens of small air leaks -- through the rubber. Our best guess was that the rubber was breaking down and it was so hard that there were very small cracks.

I will say that the company is very helpful and I would echo that I wouldn't buy one without a rim.

Agent Orange: Friendly fire that keeps on burning.

I had the same problem with bunches of pinhole leaks all over the tires, on the two 11.00 X 16 equivalent tires I put on my D-21. I had ordered the tires with sealant all ready installed in the new rims. I called Gensco and informed them of my troubles and they sent me two more gallons of their anti-freeze / ground newspaper sealant. I installed that and the tires still seeped anti-freeze from every pore. When I finally had all the fun I could have with re-seating beads and inflating flats every time I wanted to use the tractor, I decided to put tubes in the tires. I demounted the tires and dug all the slime out of them and then washed the insides and let them dry good. Put an inner tube in them when they went back on the rims and have had no further troubles.

I can see where mounting them could be a chore for an inexperienced tire jockey, and it would be worse if they also had to install a tube without pinching it. They have thick, heavy sidewalls and the trimmed bead area could be an extra hazard for the tube. I have had no further trouble or "fun" since getting rid of the gunk and replacing it with a tube.

We had some used airplane tires on a rotary mower and we gave up trying to fix flats on it.  The tires were so stiff that even after they came off the bead they held the rims off the ground so we ran them flat for several years.

For you guys using them on batwing mowers -- If you mower doesn't have springs for shock, my experience has been that the tires needed low air pressure to give the mower some cushion to reduce shock on the mower as well as to reduce the risk of puncture. (Had a woods that stated that in the owners manual.) The genesco tires have such hard side walls that I wonder if that adds to the wear ant tear on the mower. Just a thought.

We also have had good luck using them but not on tandem and triple axle trailers. I had a triple axle that I hauled a high-boy on and it keep pulling the front tire off the rim. We finally realized the tire is so stiff that when we turned sharp it just pulled the tire away from the rim. We had to stop using them for that reason. They work great on 4 wheel trailers that the front wheels turn with the tongue. The freight's so expensive now that I can buy regular tires around here and get by.
